It's like this is the anti-2002. In 2002 after a quarter century of uninterrupted GOP governors, Illinois was going to elect a Democrat--any Democrat-- as governor just to change things around. We elected Rod Blagojevich who was a train wreck from day one. Now things have shifted and we are willing to elect a Republican--any Republican--as governor to have a change. With all due respect--Pat Quinn is a well meaning guy, but is way over his head as Governor. I remember the high hopes everybody had when he was sworn in to replace the disgraced Blagojevich. Unfortunately the reality of governing Illinois has seemingly overwhelmed his abilities.
