I also think a Republicans vs. Democrats season would be fascinating!
In the current polarizing environment, it wouldn't work. After the merge, it would just be a slew of endless fights that would likely turn violent eventually. And in the event that the finale was between 1 D and 1 R, the jury vote would be boring and predictable, with a mixture of very superficial and very loaded questions, and the vote being completely along party lines.
Hell, I'm not even sure we'd make it to the merge... more likely we would have fights within the two coalitions between BLM/far left/blue dogs/SJWs or white supremacists/far right/libertarians/alt-right, etc.
Then, yeah, I would guarantee multiple fistfights after the merge. And anyone who felt they were treated unfairly due to party affiliation will certainly try to monetize it with a future as a HuffPost or Fox News contributor.
Anyway, here are my guesses on a few demographics:
People who use the term "dank meme" Trump
People who have been in a protest in the last 12 months Clinton
Golfers Trump
The Starbucks/DD thing makes me think a lot of conservatives switched from Starbucks to DD when Starbucks went liberal.
