Leaving out a sitting governor and a sitting Congressman is a catastrophically bad look for the party.

They've gotta expand the field. They set up the 20 limit before they knew how many candidates there would be - there is cover to change the rules to be more inclusive.
They're being too inclusive.

This congressman and governor should have declared earlier, or run a better campaign, to meet the thresh-hold.

With Sestak randomly running, does anyone here think he’ll make it to a debate?

I was hoping for a smaller debate, but at this rate it looks like there will be at lteast 9 who will qualify.
But if we have 11, then we get 1 debate with 5 and 1 with 6, which is even better.

Does someone have an updated chart of where all the candidates are in regard to qualifying polls/donors and who's confirmed for the debates?

I recall reading that the October Democratic Debate will have the same qualifications as the one in September.

So if Gabbard, Williamson, and Gillibrand are at 129,000 unique donors and 3 qualifying polls at 2% on the last day to qualify for the September debate, but the next week they do reach 130,000 unique donors and 4 qualifying polls, they will then participate in the October debate... correct?

If my understanding is correct, which candidates will not be in the September debate(s), but qualify for the October debate(s)?

How is Klobuchar one of the final 5.

I just don't get it.

It makes sense when you remember that we've been down to the final four since at least the October debate and no one outside of Buttigieg, Biden, Bernie, and Warren has had a serious shot of coming in first or second in any state since then.  I mean, it's not like Klobuchar's chances of being the nominee are any better than Bloomberg or Yang's which is to say she has no chance.  After the top four, the rest are all kinda irrelevant at this point.
Yes, but how is she still the 5th one to come to the debate, and not any of the others? Why her? How did she outlast  Harris, Gillibrand, Booker, Castro, etc.

Bloomberg self-funding is a good idea, but he can't sit out the debates indefinitely. He should open donations for small sums ($1-$20, maybe?) with it clearly mentioned in the text that the campaign may distribute donation money to affiliated/endorsed campaigns. He doesn't need the money, but if the DNC insists he raise it he should oblige.
Debate qualifications will change by the time Super  Tuesday hits. Also I think he'd honestly rather not debate and just spend money on ads.

I'm actually very happy we're finally getting a 5-person debate. I would prefer it was only the top 4, but I'll take it.
