The last two Democratic primaries have revolved around four main voting blocs, two of which are needed to be a strong primary candidate. Going forward to 2020 and looking at the main speculated candidates, where would they draw their strength from? Who would do very well with one bloc in particular, and who would be able to pull multiple blocs together to make a winning coalition?

1. The Obama -> Sanders bloc - Liberals, progressives, millennials

2. The Obama -> Clinton bloc - Urban centers, African Americans

3. The Clinton -> Clinton bloc - Women, Latinos, what remains of Southern white Democrats

4. The Clinton -> Sanders bloc - Disaffected Democrats, rural whites, working-class Midwesterners

Here's a map for added context:

Fantastic map!!
