Grant deserves to be recognized as an Illinoisan. Wink
If liberals knew about his conservative position on the gold standard, and that he signed the Comstock Act, they probably wouldn't like him as much.

I thought Grant counted among Presidents from Illinois, but according to the wiki, his home state, while running for President, was indeed Ohio.
That is true of the 1868 election, however, in 1872, his home state was Illinois.
