Ever since that MSNBC townhall a couple weeks, I've been thinking (gun to my head-style) that Elizabeth Warren is most likely going to be the Democratic nominee. Everything I've seen and read has only reinforced that point.

I'm basically supporting Elizabeth Warren at this point. I don't buy into the so-called electability issue. John Kerry and Hillary Clinton were supposed to be electable. I'm not afraid to run someone with firm convictions and someone that will take the fight right to Trump. I have no doubt she'll be able to throw it back to Trump.

As for her Senate seat, I hope the legislature in Massachusetts will change the law once again and require the temporary vacancy be filled by someone of the same party.

Electability has always been a fundamentally stupid argument.

I remember after Mike Castle lost the Republican Senate primary in 2010, you had Dick Morris going around saying that since O'Donnell beat him in the primary, she'd do just as well if not better than he did in the general.

That said, I'm not as concerned about Warren's electability as I was a few months ago. I think I would vote for her in the primary if I was motivated to turnout to vote for it, but I honestly don't care too much for any of the candidates running. I am just planning on voting for whoever the Democratic nominee is in November and for Democrats for Congress and state legislature. Fortunately, I live right in the heart of two swing seats at the federal and state level, so it'll actually be worth showing up for that.

There are extreme examples, but they are extremely rare.

I'm just tired of hearing about how Joe Biden is the only way we're going to win back the White House. This is not 1972 and Elizabeth Warren is not George McGovern. Democrats win by running inspiring candidates that are looking towards the future. Usually, I'd say age does matter in that sense, but it matters a lot less with a woman. I'm actually surprised Elizabeth Warren recently turned 70 because she seems to be much younger.

Some people don't know how to negotiate either. It's unfortunate trait among a lot of Democrats. It's the tendency to pre-negotiate. On a very good day with an expanded majority, there's a slim chance Pelosi could get Medicare for All through the House. The Senate is a pipe dream though. That doesn't mean we can't make significant progress towards that goal. Elizabeth Warren is ultimately a pragmatist and smart tactician. If the starting point is Medicare for All, maybe we could get Medicare for America (i.e. Medicare buy-in) through the nasty sausage-making process that is the legislative process.
