Labour to bring home all the new Mayoral elections bar for Cambridge? does anyone predict a coup in the West Midlands run off?

Rotherham wins the Greater Liverpool mayoral race with an impressive 59% of the vote in the first round, on the other hand the Tories came second with an absolute nobody who hardly campaigned.

Steve Rotheram (Lab) 171,167 (59.30%)
Tony Caldeira (C) 58,805 (20.37%)
Carl Cashman (LD) 19,751 (6.84%)
Tom Crone (Green) 14,094 (4.88%)
Paula Walters (UKIP) 11,946 (4.14%)
Roger Bannister (TUSC) 7,881 (2.73%)
Tabitha Morton (Women) 4,287 (1.49%)
Paul Breen (Jury) 729 (0.25%)

if you look closely you can see the Wirral seats going to the tories next month

Tory Andy Smith wins first round in the West Midlands race, now a run off with Labour's Sion Simon, I think Labour will edge it.

Andy Burnham looks to set to win Great Manchester in the first round with over 50%

with 3 victories now in the bag (including Cambridge) and West Midlands looking not at all unlikely, the mayoral elections are an outright success for the Tories. Will we see May push for move devo deals then?

Losing West Midlands will be a huge blow. It seems destined that Labour will lose a large chunk of Midlands seats as well. I expect Watson to start moving against Corbyn soon

The Tories have gained over 100 seats in Scotland.
This figure is jaw dropping. A political revival unimaginable 10 years ago

Cornwall (NOC hold):

Conservative 46 (+15)
Liberal Democrat 37 (+2)
Independent 30 (-7)
Labour 5 (-3)
Mebyon Kernow 4 (=)
UKIP 0 (-6)
Green 0 (-1)
Correct me if I'm wrong but that means Mebyon Kernow has more elected representatives than Ukip...which is A/ hilarious B/ an indications that it is now truly over for the piss stain of a party

Remember UKIP has seats on councils that weren't up for election this time, while of course MK only runs in Cornwall. Wink
True, I forgot about those still holding to their posts knowing the end is near (meaning they will start defecting en masse to the Tories soon). But they did come behind MK in this election cycle!
