This group is, quite blatently, a mirror of it real life counter part.  It's goals will be to opperate as a think tank to fashion ideas for the foriegn policy goals of Atlasia in the 21st Century.  Anyone interested?

Heaven forbid we should have a coordinated policy that promotes Democratic government in the face of Islamo-facism and Tin-pot dictatorship, or even better, Chinese Imperialism.

Yeah, these guys are super extreme:

Stating:

- "American leadership is good both for America and for the world"
- "such leadership requires military strength, diplomatic energy and commitment to moral principle"
- "too few political leaders today are making the case for global leadership."

Suggesting:

- A significant increase of U.S. defense spending.
- Strengthening ties with the U.S.'s allies and to challenge regimes hostile to U.S. interests and values.
- Promoting the cause of political and economic freedom outside the U.S.
- Preserving and extending an international order friendly to U.S. security, prosperity, and principles.

Mind you, the group makes specific statements against the idea of empire.  Against cooperating with dictators and rouge regimes, even when it is in the short term interests of the US, unless they pledge reform.  In favor of cooperation in US foriegn policy (as opposed to domination).  For using trade and influence to bring Third World nations out of poverty.

SMASH IMPERALISM.

So, any global leadership or common strategy is imperalism?

The intents of the real PNAC are. Not too mention it's full of disgusting, sickening human beings. The member list makes me want to puke. Perle, Wolfowitz, Kristol, yuck yuck yuck. Damn Straussian fascists.

Glad to see you can put together a logically solid argument against it.

So is this basically a neo-conservative organization?

Apparently so.  The real-life PNAC wants America to fully control the world in every sphere of influence available, as well as pour funding into a Space Military.

Well, they do want America to be the dominate force in foriegn policy for the next century, but the ultimate aim of the organization is to bring about a "Democratic Peace", so that countries won't need us to influence world events so much, anymore.

Also, this process is highly dependent on the United States building up more and stronger alliances, and building on cooperation with those allies.

I hardly call that facist, or imperialistic, or scary.  You attempt to make it sound like their final goal is so that America will dominate the world.  That isn't it at all.  Their final goal is for democratic government and pluralism to be the driving force of the world.

I have never seen a single positive thing about this on any left wing site. Therefore, there is obviously things wrong with it.

Yeah, that is sound logic.  Kinda like "I never see anything good about the Populists on Libertarian websites.  So populists must be bad."  Or "I never see anything good about the Jews and Blacks on neo-Nazi websites.  So Jews and Blacks must be bad."

I thought that once, too.  However, if you have read anything done by her in the past ten years, she has come out more solidly against some of the policies she herself implimented in places like Central America, now that the Soviet Union has been defeated.

P.S. And if you are going to point out one person to discredit an entire organization, then I am pretty sure any group you support is fair game for me to rip on.

I don't really intend to read them, to be quite honest.  I'm usually quite dismissive of most pressure groups, and this one is no exception.

How is it that you find room to talk about something you admittedly know little about?  I'm not trying to be nasty, but seriously, how can you be so dismissive of a group for their views, when you aren't even too certain what those views are.  You shouldn't just repeat back what you here from others, you should acctually go and see for yourself what is being said.  To do anything else only makes you look bad.

I sympathis.  However, I think we are talking about a misunderstanding of terms here.  I believe the real PNAC is mainly talking about protection of our communications and intel satilites which are quite vulnerable to any major power.
