With all due respect to our former President, dismissing me as just belonging to the Green Party does no justice to your case, and I think voters in this country see through that. I stand for what the Democratic Party should stand for: economic fairness, social justice, and peace around the world. There's a reason why I'm picking up steam in the primaries: it's because there are Americans all across the country, from east to west, who want to go on a new path, away from the warmongering and away from the corporate giveaways. Not every Democrat is going to have principle on these issues, but I do, and that's why I'm in this race.

Kucinich Iowa Operations

The Kucinich campaign's footsoldiers have been out in full force during the last week before the caucus. Volunteers have gone door-to-door, have been phone banking, and have used the Internet to promote the campaign across the state. The highest concentration of activity is found in Iowa’s urban areas, such as Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, and college campuses are among the biggest targets for attracting votes. The campaign has been making appeals to all sorts of Democratic primary voters, but has spent the most time and money on Edwards and Biden voters, who are seen as the most likely to flip over to Kucinich. Undecideds have also been receiving special attention during the final days, with a strong focus put on Kucinich’s record in Congress (such as his antiwar activism and his economic populism) in order to sway them.

Dennis Kucinich Campaign Schedule: January 15-27

January 15
With Russ Feingold and George McGovern
-Town Hall in Cassleton, ND
-Town Hall in Rugby, ND
-Town Hall in Valley City, ND
-Town Hall in Beulah, ND
-Town Hall in Devils Lake, ND

Well, we gave everyone one heck of a showing in Iowa last night, didn’t we? Third place with thirteen delegates seems like a good start to a campaign that I know will be much more successful in the months to come. Iowans have spoken out, and while I may not have won the state, now it’s clear that I’m here to stay. I’m confident that we’ll win right here in North Dakota, a state known for bucking trends and being bold. I’ve been fighting for you in Congress and now in the White House you need a champion for your causes, and North Dakota will be among many states to stand up and say, “President Kucinich now!”

January 16
With Russ Feingold and George McGovern
-Rally and Fundraiser in Jamestown, ND
-Rally and Fundraiser in Dickinson, ND
-Rally and Fundraiser in West Fargo, ND
-Rally and Fundraiser in Grand Forks, ND

January 17

-Meet and Greet in Park River, ND
-Meet and Greet in Washburn, ND
-Meet and Greet in Crosby, ND
-Rally and Fundraiser in Minot, ND
-Rally and Fundraiser in Fargo, ND

We’ve been keeping a policy of war in this country for many years. It’s not just a problem with Republican presidents—Democrats have been guilty of this, too. We’ve got to ask ourselves: Is Iraq really worth it? Can we win the War on Terror? I’m proposing the creation of a Department of Peace that will tackle our foreign policy in a diplomatic fashion. War should not be our first venue for all of our problems abroad. Communication is key, and we have to reach out first. The State and Defense Departments will also have reforms put in place that will ensure that our taxpayer dollars don’t go into feeding this gigantic beast that President Eisenhower called the Military-Industrial Complex.

-Town Hall in Douglas, AZ

-Town Hall in Wakefield, NH
-Town Hall in Loudon, NH
-Town Hall in Fremont, NH

I saw Senator Biden’s ad the other day, and I have to say, even though we’re opponents in these primaries, you go, Joe! The fact of the matter is that Rumsfeld has some explaining to do on his record. He did in fact pal around with Saddam Hussein, and for the last two years he was going off on how much of a tyrant he has been? I think there’s a conflict of interest here. All of the Democrats preach a break from the way things have been, but unfortunately, Senator Biden has inconsistencies in his record as well. I am the only candidate who has staunchly been against this warmongering and nation-building from the very beginning, and you can look at my advocacy in Congress as all the proof that you need. Democrats and Republicans have failed you on some of the important issues of our day, but not me. You know where I’ve stood, and the results in New Hampshire will show just where the tides are turning in this country! Let’s make a change together!

January 22
With Howard Dean, Bernie Sanders, Russ Feingold, and Robert Reich
-Barnstorming in Hillsborough, NH
-Barnstorming in New Boston, NH
-Barnstorming in Kingston, NH
-Barnstorming in Pembroke, NH
-Barnstorming in Plymouth, NH
-Barnstorming in Deerfield, NH

January 23
With Howard Dean, Bernie Sanders, Russ Feingold, and Mike Gravel
-Barnstorming in Nottingham, NH
-Barnstorming in Peterborough, NH
-Barnstorming in Swanzey, NH
-Barnstorming in Bow, NH
-Barnstorming in Weare, NH
-Barnstorming in Seabrook, NH

Senator Clinton has a fair lead over the others if you’re to believe the polls. Whatever happens, we have to get the record straight. Democrats, progressives, liberals: Hillary Clinton has not been a consistent voice on your behalf. One of the most critical issues we’ll face this election will be foreign policy, and how we conduct ourselves in Iraq and the rest of the Middle East. Hillary, I’m sorry to say, has been as much of a hawk on this as many Republicans until very recently, because now she’s running for President. She’s been on Wal-Mart’s Board of Directors and has been supportive of Wall Street and corporate welfare. We can do better than that as Democrats. That’s why I’m running: to get out the progressives and bring real reforms to Washington. Don’t disappoint me, New Hampshire! We can win this together!

January 24
With Howard Dean, Bernie Sanders, Russ Feingold, Ramsey Clark, and Robert Reich
-Barnstorming in Somersworth, NH
-Barnstorming in Claremont, NH
-Barnstorming in Pelham, NH
-Barnstorming in Durham, NH
-Barnstorming in Exeter, NH
-Barnstorming in Milford, NH

I’ve been getting more attention since my good showing in Iowa, it seems. Senator Clinton called me the first “fringe candidate” to have a good primary showing since George McGovern. First off, I don’t believe that my views are fringe by any means. What I advocate for is at the very heart of the Democratic Party’s principles, and we as Democrats shouldn’t skirt away from that for the sake of “electability.” I’m also flattered at her invitation to have a role in her administration, but for now I’ve got my eyes on one spot in the White House, and that’s in the Oval Office. The momentum is clearly on our sides, folks, and we have to make the most of it! New Hampshire is our biggest test yet—let’s show everyone that we can live up to expectations and far exceed them!

January 25
With Howard Dean, Bernie Sanders, Russ Feingold, Ramsey Clark, and Robert Reich
-Barnstorming in Laconia, NH
-Barnstorming in Goffstown, NH
-Barnstorming in Portsmouth, NH
-Barnstorming in Londonderry, NH
-Barnstorming in Hudson, NH
-Barnstorming in Merrimack, NH

January 26
With Howard Dean, Bernie Sanders, Russ Feingold, Ramsey Clark, Ralph Nader, George McGovern, and Robert Reich
-Barnstorming in Salem, NH
-Barnstorming in Dover, NH
-Barnstorming in Derry, NH
-Barnstorming in Concord, NH
-Barnstorming in Nashua, NH
-Barnstorming in Manchester, NH

Tomorrow, New Hampshire will open up its polls and let people all across the state cast their allegiance to their favorite candidate. I’ve had much attention spent on New Hampshire since the very beginning of my campaign, and I expect it to all pay off here tonight. Don’t listen to what the polls say! What you need to look at is the organization, and we’ll shine here again like we did in Iowa. Let it be known that I’m the candidate of peace, justice, and equality, and no one comes close to the record I have. While my opponents may flip-flop on Iraq, I’ve stood my ground. Voters in this state realize that we can do better. I’ve always fought for you, and I will continue to fight for you. Now, New Hampshire, let’s get our victory tomorrow!

January 27
-GOTV across the state with all surrogates, with specific emphasis on largest cities
-Targeting progressive voters and last-minute appeals to Edwards/Biden voters
-Bringing out working-class and elderly voters to polls
-Working with grassroots volunteers to maximize turnout in both urban and rural areas
-Rally in Manchester, NH

Kucinich Endorsements

Ramsey Clark: Dennis Kucinich has truly impressed me with his record in Congress. As someone who was Attorney General during a rocky period in American history, I know the sweeping waves of change that society faces, and a President Kucinich will bring monumental change for the better.

Robert Reich: I was Labor Secretary during the Clinton years, and while we’ve had successes, we’ve also had failures. Too many of our politicians have been too cozy to Wall Street and we’ve seen more deregulation in recent years that is a dangerous path to continue on. Dennis Kucinich has truly been a voice for the people, who has opposed big banks, corporate fat cats, and big money. He should get your vote as he has gotten mine.

TV/Radio Ad: Bush Democrats

Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Joe Biden may all be antiwar now, but what have their records shown? All three voted to authorize the War in Iraq. All three have supported the PATRIOT Act. All three have fed defense contractors like Haliburton and Blackwater. Do we really want more Bush Democrats in office? Vote for a candidate that has stood on principle. Vote Dennis Kucinich. I'm Dennis Kucinich, and I approve this message.

Barbara Lee: Dennis and I were some of the brave members of Congress who said no to President Bush and opposed these disastrous wars. Now we've seen public opinion turn against Bush and the Republicans, and it's time for a new administration with fresh ideas on how to turn around this country for the better. Dennis has the boldest vision for where to go forward out of all the candidates.

Barney Frank: After four wacky years with George W. Bush and his Republican cronies, it's time to turn the page and start somewhere new. I've been serving with Dennis in Congress, and this guy has the guts to stand up to the right-wingers harming our country with their divisive tactics and handouts to the richest. Democrats should unite behind the man with the best ideas and the most integrity and take us all the way to the White House.

Dennis Kucinich Campaign Schedule: January 28-February 3

January 28
With Howard Dean, Russ Feingold, Mike Gravel, and Robert Reich
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Flagstaff, AZ
-Barnstorming and voter registration in San Tan Valley, AZ
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Lake Havasu City, AZ
-Rallying Democrats and left-leaning independents in Peoria, AZ
-Phone banking in Tucson, AZ
-GOTV strategy session with campaign staff in Pheonix, AZ

Another day, another great showing! Capturing third place with over twenty percent of the vote in New Hampshire has really brought us more momentum, and now I expect it to pay off right here in Arizona and many other states. If you haven’t registered to vote already, now is the time to do so! Come in the voting booth and vote with your hearts on February 3. Let’s flood the polls together! Hillary may be in the lead now, but we’re right on her heels, let me tell ya! This race is far from over, and don’t let anybody convince you otherwise. Our hard work will pay off very soon!

January 29
With George McGovern, Ramsey Clark, Bernie Sanders, and Ralph Nader
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Mirana, AZ
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Oro Valley, AZ
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Surprise, AZ
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Glendale, AZ
-Phone banking in Mesa, AZ
-Town hall on Hispanic issues in Tucson, AZ

Let’s talk about immigration tonight. I’ve seen many of my Republican friends on the other side act tough on immigrants and sealing the borders, but is this really the right way to solve this problem? I have some different proposals. We have to build relationships between nations, not build walls, and this includes reaching out to Mexico. America has always been a melting pot and we should make it as easy as possible for new immigrants to assimilate to our nation and our values.  We need a real pathway to citizenship so that anyone who makes it here has the opportunity to follow the law and be successful in their pursuits. For the influx of Spanish-speaking immigrants, it would also be a good idea to teach Spanish as a second common language in our public schools, and that would benefit everyone, including our native kids who now have the chance to be exposed to more diversity. Americans must not be afraid of new languages and cultures. We can make this nation stronger than ever, and part of that comes with reforming our immigration laws.

January 30
With Russ Feingold, Sherrod Brown, George McGovern, and Jesse Jackson
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Columbia, MO
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Independence, MO
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Springfield, MO
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Kansas City, MO
-Barnstorming and voter registration in St. Louis, MO
-Town hall on African-American issues in St. Louis, MO

Someone has asked me before: "Dennis, what do you think of reparations for slavery?" My answer to that individual is that, yes, I do believe we need to compensate the African-American community in some fashion for past injustices. My approach to this would be through preserving and strengthening social programs. We'll have politicians that want to slash the social safety net, but they don't realize just how important it has been for so many families and communities. Countless people might be otherwise homeless, starving, or even dead without these programs intact, and that's why I've never voted to cut Americans' benefits as a member of Congress. As President, I also see room for expanding certain programs, and I'll fight every day to make that happen.

January 31
With Howard Dean, Sherrod Brown, Barney Frank, and Ramsey Clark
-Barnstorming and voter registration in West Fargo, ND
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Minot, ND
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Grand Forks, ND
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Bismarck, ND
-Rallying Democrats and left-leaning independents in Fargo, ND
-Organizing strong GOTV operation with campaign staff in Fargo, ND

I look out here in the crowd and I see plenty of faces. Young and old, black and white, men and women—all of you are seeking a real change up in Washington! More and more, Americans across the country have been seeing me as a real alternative to the same old routine that goes on with presidential candidates. I won’t lie to you. I won’t dodge specifics on the issues. I tell it how it is, and while not everybody may agree with me on everything, at least you know where I stand—which is a lot more that can be said for other politicians. This year, we have the chance to bring about real, authentic change, and that begins first with electing leaders with principle.

February 1
With Ralph Nader, Mike Gravel, Barbara Lee, and Barney Frank
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Alamogordo, NM
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Hobbs, NM
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Clovis, NM
-Phone banking in Santa Fe, NM
-Bus tour in Albuquerque, NM
-Organizing GOTV strategy with campaign staff in Albuquerque, NM

New Mexico, are you excited? In two days, we’re going to make one hell of a showing here! My gut tells me that we’re in a very strong position to win in this great state, and I can’t ever thank all of the people who have been helping me on the campaign along the way. The media may tell you that Senator Clinton is the national frontrunner right now, but given all of her rather odd remarks on the campaign trail, I sometimes wonder how long that streak will last for her. Language aside, what really matters in this race is the issues, and I’ve been the best representative of the Democratic Party’s values out of all four candidates. Just take a look at my record as a Congressman or even as far back as Mayor of Cleveland and you’ll see that I don’t disappoint. Now, who’s with me in this fight to the very end? If you are, stand by me and vote in the primary on the 3rd!

February 2
With Russ Feingold, Bernie Sanders, Sherrod Brown, Mike Gravel, and Ralph Nader
-Barnstorming and fundraiser in Catalina Foothills, AZ
-Barnstorming and fundraiser in Avondale, AZ
-Barnstorming and fundraiser in Yuma, AZ
-Barnstorming and fundraiser in Gilbert, AZ
-Bus tour in Glendale, AZ
-Bus tour in Chandler, AZ

Well, Arizona, we’re nearing the end and we’re heading right into Super Tuesday. There’s no looking back at this point. We as Democrats have the opportunity to create better lives for our children. We have the opportunity to restore a sustainable planet and foster good relations with our neighbors to truly have global peace. We have the opportunity to ensure that our poor, sick, and old are not left behind and have a society built around altruism. Don’t listen to the naysayers—all of these things are quite achievable. They won’t be easy, but with determination we can push through and be proud of ourselves for leaving our world better off than before. My campaign centers around all of these goals, and they’re what drive me to be the best man I can be every day of my life. No matter how many states we win or lose, never forget these goals and never be discouraged to keep going at it.  Let’s have a wonderful Super Tuesday, folks!

February 3
With all surrogates
-GOTV statewide in Arizona
-GOTV statewide in New Mexico
-GOTV statewide in North Dakota
-GOTV statewide in South Carolina
-Media appearances on CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC
-Rally in Phoenix, AZ

TV/Radio Ad: For The People

Hi, I'm Dennis Kucinich. I'm running for President to change how Washington works. The people of this country have been ignored for too long. The people want to see us out of Iraq, have better schools, increase the minimum wage, and protect Social Security. As President, I'll fight for your best interests every step of the way. There's a lot of talk these days, but now it's time for action. I'm Dennis Kucinich, and I approve this message because it's time that we have a President for the people.

They said we would never do it. But we proved them wrong, folks: we won in North Dakota! I thank the good people of North Dakota for voting with their hearts for a true progressive path for this country. With a victory in North Dakota and very strong showings all across the country, we have the momentum to go in Michigan, Washington, and beyond! I'll see you all there!

Dennis Kucinich Debate Answers

Quote

The first thing we have to recognize here is that going into Iraq the way we did was a mistake from the very beginning. This is one of the most important reasons why I'm running for President right now. Should I be lucky enough to be in the White House next January, I would begin the process of immediately pulling all of our troops and contractors out of the region as soon as I come into office. I won't wait a year or even longer than that—our boys will be all back home in a span of 90 days because this war has been a massive blunder from the start. Along with that, I will also shut down every military base that we’ve propped up in Iraq, as it’s not this country’s responsibility to be the world police. Now, this isn’t to say that our involvement in Iraq will be totally severed. After our troops are out, I will implement my plan to bring in UN troops to monitor the country’s progress and make sure that they’re on a stable footing after what we’ve done. We’ll work in cooperation with the Iraqi government to rebuild their infrastructure and economy, and we’ll create stronger bonds with Iraq and the rest of the world through our actions. The Iraqi people don't deserve to live in turmoil, and we owe it to them to bring them on a path to prosperity. Instead of bombing them, why not open up communication and work out solutions together? Peace can be achieved if we rethink our foreign policy strategy in Iraq and elsewhere, and that's exactly what you're going to get under a Kucinich administration. The days of warmongering are over.

Immigration is definitely one of the most important issues that this nation faces. Welcoming immigrants to our shores is one of our country's vital traditions, and as the grandson of immigrants from Europe, I realize how this country opens so many opportunities for people all across the world to take care of their loved ones and become successful in their lives. I'm of the opinion that ultimately there are no illegal people. How much of a crime is it for a family to leave their homeland in search of a better one? To me, that's a pretty courageous action, and we shouldn't punish immigrants the way we have in this country. While some may want to build more walls to prevent the flow of people from Mexico, walls only create more hostility between nations. While people may point at illegal immigrants taking low-wage jobs when Americans may have them instead, we shouldn't blame the immigrants—we should be blaming the slave labor system that big business has perpetuated.

My solution is simple: we should respect human rights and open up our immigration laws so they're more accessible for anyone who wishes to make something better out of themselves here. We should have a comprehensive package of reforms that will create a pathway to citizenship for the illegal immigrants that are already here. In Congress I've co-sponsored a bill that would grant legal status to everyone who has lived here for at least five years. There are obviously always going to be some bad apples in society, but that doesn't describe the overwhelming number of immigrants, legal or illegal. Let's extend an open hand and have a nation tolerant of all people and cultures.

Dennis Kucinich Campaign Schedule: February 4-8

February 4
With Howard Dean, Russ Feingold, George McGovern, Ralph Nader, and Mike Gravel
-Rallying Democrats and left-leaning independents in Spokane Valley, WA
-Barnstorming and instruction on caucus process in Federal Way, WA
-Barnstorming and organizaing GOTV strategy with grassroots in Kennewick, WA
-Barnstorming and media interviews in Auburn, WA
-Bus tour in Vancouver, WA
-Organizing GOTV strategy with staff in Tacoma, WA

Washington, we have the chance to show the other Democrats in the race just how much of a force we are! We're certainly more organized than anybody else here, and I expect our hard work to pay off very soon. Out of the four candidates left, there has only been one who has been a consistent advocate for peace, justice, a strong economy, and a good environment. North Dakota was just the beginning. We'll be seeing many more victories down the road, because our campaign will never be stopped! Washington will make me proud!

February 5
With Russ Feingold, Barney Frank, Ramsey Clark, and Bernie Sanders
-Barnstorming and reaching out to youths in Yakima, WA
-Barnstorming and contacting grassroots in Shoreline, WA
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Renton, WA
-Bus tour in Everett, WA
-Phone banking in Kent, WA
-Fundraising and organizing GOTV strategy with staff in Tacoma, WA

Folks, what's more important here than anything is to vote, vote, vote. All of you must show up at the caucuses if we want to make sure that we win. The polls seem to have us in a pretty good position, but it's still a close race and anything can change in the blink of an eye. So, we've got to be alert. I'm very pleased by the work that my staff and all of the grassroots have been doing here, and I know that it will all pay off for us. Who, out of all the other campaigns, can say that they have a more enthusiastic group of supporters than my own? No one can really claim that. We surpass them far and away, and that enthusiasm is the reason why this campaign is going so well, and why I know that we're going to win right here in Washington in two days!

February 6
With Howard Dean, George McGovern, Sherrod Brown, Jesse Jackson, Barbara Lee, and Ralph Nader
-Barnstorming and rallying support in Marysville, WA
-Barnstorming and voter registration in Bellevue, WA
-Bus tour and rallying supporters in Spokane, WA
-Phone banking and implementing GOTV strategy with staff and supporters in Seattle, WA
-Phone banking and organizing GOTV strategy in Grand Rapids, MI
-Bus tour and rallying minority support in Detroit, MI

Tonight I've barnstormed all across two states: Washington and right here in Michigan. Campaigning can be exhausting, but it's all for a good cause. I'm running to win, yes, but I'm also running to promote ideas that will put our country back on track. They're ideas that would restore the Democratic Party back to its progressive roots. I think that we as Democrats have sometimes acted too much like Republicans, so what choice are we giving voters when we're like that? My campaign has only become stronger as the primaries have gone on. I've given yet another solid debate performance and I'm competitive in a number of states. We can win both Washington and Michigan tomorrow night, but it will all depend on you, the voters. Come out to the polls in full force and make your voices heard! Bring out your family, friends, and coworkers and tell them that Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate who has been fighting for them every step of the way! We can do this, my friends, all together!

February 7
With all surrogates
-GOTV statewide in Washington
-GOTV statewide in Michigan
-Barnstorming and caucus instruction in Bangor, ME
-Barnstorming and GOTV strategy session in Portland, ME
-Rally in Seattle, WA

February 8
With all surrogates
-GOTV statewide in Maine
-Focusing on attracting progressives by building Kucinich as main anti-Clinton candidate
-Local media interviews
-Rally in Portland, ME

TV/Radio Ad: A Green Future

Hi, I'm Dennis Kucinich. The League of Conservation Voters has given me a 100% rating on environmental issues, and for good reason. We must take care of our own planet first before tackling all of our other problems, and I've been the strongest voice against big oil and other groups that want to reduce regulations on our environment. Having a clean environment is not a luxury, it's a right. As President, I'll strengthen the EPA, eliminate the tax breaks for oil companies, and invest in clean energy projects. I'm Dennis Kucinich, and I approve this message because it's time to go a new way.

I thought that this round only went to the 7th?

So did I, but the other folks have been doing to the 8th.

Are our schedules supposed to stop on 2/8?
Yes, for this round.

I saw this and I edited my own schedule.

Kucinich Campaign Strategy

The Kucinich campaign has been gearing up to ensure very strong showings in Washington, Michigan, and Maine, believing that there is a good chance to win all of them with an impressive turnout from supporters. Surrogates have been brought up to help with barnstorming all three states alongside Congressman Kucinich. The funding and airtime for advertisements has been considerably increased in order to have more clout over the airways in the final days before voting. For the caucuses about to vote (Washington and Maine), there has been an intense effort to bring in the most motivated supporters and instruct them on how to go through the caucus process in each precinct. The message in recent days from the campaign has shifted to presenting Kucinich as the boldest alternative to Hillary Clinton, the current frontrunner, out of all the other Democratic contestants, in order to siphon support away from Biden and Edwards. An organized operation with campaign staff and grassroots forces in each state is propelling Kucinich to have the best showing possible by bringing in voters based on key issues (war, environment, labor, etc.) that respond well in polling. The minority vote is critical to victory in Michigan, so surrogates such as Jesse Jackson have been stumping hard in areas such as Detroit to maximize turnout among likely voters and to attract disaffected voters.

TV Ad: America First

Companies are shipping their jobs overseas. Wages are being slashed and people are being laid off. Families across America are going through a rough patch, and they need a leader who stands with them. Dennis Kucinich has been that leader all his life. He has said no to cheap labor and will pull out of job-killing treaties like NAFTA. Manufacturing will rebound under a Kucinich presidency. To Dennis, Mexico or China doesn't come first—America comes first. It's time to have a President that will stand up for American interests again. I'm Dennis Kucinich, and I approve this message.

I'm satisfied. Washington should be made yellow for the Democrats, though, since Kucinich won there.

Thank you! Thank you, everybody! We've had one heck of a night tonight, haven't we? Not only did we win in Washington, but we're strong in Michigan, and we're only a handful of delegates away from being in second place! *cheers* This just proves how the momentum is on our side now, and pretty soon we'll be going head-to-head with Hillary until the very end!

Dennis Kucinich Campaign Schedule: February 11-14

February 11
With Jesse Jackson, Howard Dean, and Bernie Sanders
-Meet and Greet in LeDroit Park, Washington, D.C.
-Meet and Greet in Columbia Heights, Washington, D.C.
-Meet and Greet in Adams Morgan, Washington, D.C.
-Meet and Greet in Foggy Bottom, Washington, D.C.
-Meet and Greet in Chinatown, Washington, D.C.
-Assembling campaign staff for strong GOTV operation in Washington, D.C.

I'm in support of Senator Biden's proposal for the minimum wage, of course, but I feel like it may be too little and too late. The fact of the matter is that we can't wait on something like this. Working families all across the country need relief right now, but, unfortunately, the Republicans in Congress won't listen to what an overwhelming amount of Americans are asking for. Anyone who knows me well enough will know that this is an issue I'm passionate about, and we can't do off diverting away from it any longer. The minimum wage will be one of the very first issues I tackle as President, and I'd like to see it much higher than where it is now. You can count on a Kucinich administration to listen to you, D.C.!

February 12
With Jesse Jackson, Howard Dean, Bernie Sanders, and Russ Feingold
-Town Hall in Cleveland Park, Washington, D.C.
-Town Hall in Judiciary Square, Washington, D.C.
-Discussing city issues with townspeople and local politicians in Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.
-Recruiting liberal activists all across Washington, D.C.
-Organizing GOTV operation with surrogates in Washington, D.C.

We need a leader in the Democratic Party who will stand up on all the issues and be unapologetic about their stances. We don't need politicians who constantly flip-flop so they can tick up in the polls, because that's what's hurting this country. Take Iraq. The great majority of Republicans and Democrats in Congress voted to authorize the Bush wars, based on what? Faulty evidence that we now know is just a charade. I questioned how strong the evidence was from the beginning, and so I couldn't have supported Iraq in good conscience. I've been the only principled candidate on this issue and on many others. If the Democratic Party wants to move forward with a clear vision of where to go, you only have one true choice in the primaries!

February 13
With all surrogates
-Reaching out to black voters all across Washington, D.C. (with specific help from Jesse Jackson)
-Barnstorming in all city wards in Washington, D.C.
-Fundraisers in Washington, D.C.
-Preparing volunteers for increasing voter turnout in Washington, D.C.
-Implementing GOTV strategy with staff in Washington, D.C.

The African-American community has been hurting. We've made great strides with the Civil Rights era, but our work isn't done yet. Families are still broken apart. Blacks are charged for crimes at a much higher rate than whites, and for something like drug use, studies have shown that the two races aren't very different in that respect. Our criminal justice system needs to have serious reforms put into place. For one, I'll end the death penalty, which is an inhumane policy that has even taken away the lives of innocents. I'll also end mandatory minimum sentencing, and the prison system will be revamped to focus more on rehabilitation rather than punishment. We have criminals that can be integrated back into society if we just take the right precautions. Minorities all across the country still face hurdles with racial bias, and so a Kucinich presidency will also seek to expand the scope of hate crimes in order to tackle this problem and create a better and more equal society for everybody. You'll see true change happen when I'm President, but we can't get there unless we go out and win these primaries! Let's do it together!

February 14
With all surrogates
-GOTV in Washington, D.C.
-GOTV statewide in Nevada
-Rally in Washington, D.C.

TV/Radio Ad: Fighting For You

As Mayor of Cleveland, Dennis Kucinich said no to selling off the city's electric utility. Years later, he was proven right in his decision, as it saved Cleveland millions. As a Congressman, Dennis has been at the forefront of the Democratic Party, pushing for higher wages, job security, a protected environment, and a peaceful foreign policy. Some will ignore him, but Dennis has never been one to sit on his hands during the tough battles. He has been a champion for the working class his whole life, and he's been fighting for you. I'm Dennis Kucinich, and I approve this message.

TV/Radio Ad: Department of Peace

Hi, I'm Dennis Kucinich. In these times of war, it's important to reflect on our values. Should we seek war all the time, or is the goal to have peace? I've introduced legislation in Congress to create a Department of Peace in the White House Cabinet. This Department of Peace will engage in expanding arms control, monitoring human rights abroad, creating better diplomacy with our international neighbors, and even promoting peace here at home with measures like drug rehabilitation and fighting against domestic violence. My plan has been endorsed by Amnesty International and the National Organization for Women. As President, I'll fight to bring this to life. Will you join the fight with me? I'm Dennis Kucinich, and I approve this message because it's time to give peace a chance.

Kucinich GOTV Strategy

The Kucinich campaign is spending the most resources these last few days in Washington, D.C., where it is projected that Kucinich has the best chance of winning based on polling data. Advertisements that have been released this week have been increased in funding particularly in the D.C. area, although Nevada although received an uptick in anticipation of the caucus. An intense ground effort has been made with the staff and volunteers for prospective D.C. voters, reaching out to them in all city wards and persuading them by hitting down on certain issues (the war, civil rights, Social Security, etc.). In a famously liberal Democratic area of the country, the Kucinich campaign has been hyping up their candidate as the "strongest liberal" in the race by pointing to his record in Congress and as Cleveland's mayor.

A strong effort has been made on outreach to minority voters, who make up the great majority of the population in D.C. Jesse Jackson, a former D.C. shadow senator himself, has been the most prominent Kucinich surrogate campaigning alongside the candidate in recent days, barnstorming the entire city and ensuring that a strong turnout will arrive on primary day. Jackson has been contacting local D.C. politicians in an attempt to persuade them to publicly align with Kucinich.

Kucinich Victory Speech - February 14

We've done it yet again! We've proved the critics wrong and have shown that we're able to win this primary if we stay determined! I greatly thank the people of Washington, D.C, for this victory, and I know that we'll have many more victories to come! We're taking this all the way to the convention, and nothing will be stopping us now!

Kucinich Endorsements

Dick Celeste: I've known Dennis personally for plenty of years, and I can tell you that this man is no doubt qualified for the White House. He's been a loyal servant for our great state of Ohio for many, many years, and he would be just as loyal for the entire nation. Ohioans, don't forget who's sticking for you out there! Dennis is the one!

February 15-17: Contacting donors and organizing campaign infrastructure in Ohio

John Waihee: Congressman Kucinich is a principled warrior for progressive causes and he's impressed me time and time again over the years. We Democrats would be served well to have him as our nominee, and so I'll be doing everything I can on my part to make sure that happens.
