Florida Governor Charlie Crist endorsed McCain the night of the Democratic South Carolina primary.

When McCain spoke after Crist gave him his endorsement, McCain said the following about Crist

"Charlie Crist is known throughout the nation and througout the world as one of the great leaders of the twenty first century."

What?

One of the great leaders of the twenty first century?

Are you kidding me?

Crist was elected Governor in 2006.  Outside Florida, most Americans have never even heard of him, let alone internationally.

What is McCain talking about?

Has McCain lost his mind?

No. McCain hasn't lost his mind ... yet ... but at 71, he's getting on a bit. Perhaps, however, inappropriate his praise of Crist, he just got all a bit overwhelmed in the moment and just said the first thing that come into his head. It happens

Folks here are really, really, really trying to not like McCain.

If anything, McCain should be approaching the end of his presidency, not, potentially, beginning it. He's approaching 72, and with the past 21 years in the Senate, he's yesterday's man

No good, as far as I'm concerned, the GOP redeeming themselves now for nominating George W Bush, in 2000. I'd bet money that American prestige would not have gone into freefall had McCain been the president this past seven, coming up eight years

For McCain to win the nomination and the presidency in 2008 doesn't look good given that context when the GOP could have got it right in 2000

I have a lot of respect for John McCain but he's eight years too late

Whereas Hillary Clinton is sixteen years too late.

Quite. Hillary Clinton is yesterday's woman just as McCain is yesterday's man.

Hillary, of course, still has a lot more life in her. McCain looks old and tired. I fear for his health if elected
