Very good numbers for the Dems. I just hope some of the bad McConnell numbers aren't some sort of anti-Republican short-term backlash due to Fletcher.

McConnell's likely done more than enough to innoculate himself from any backlash due to Fletcher

BTW, it had been 36 years since a Republican had been elected governor of Kentucky (from Louie B Nunn in 1967 to Ernie Fletcher in 2003). Perhaps with a bit of luck once Fletcher gets his ass-handed to him by Steve Beshear it will be another 36 years before the Republicans win it again Wink

Beshear should be a good governor. Too bad he's probably too old to run for anything else after 2 terms.

Yea, at 63, it kind of rules out any future Senate run. Beshear will be 71 should he serve two terms as governor. Mongardio, on the other hand, could Smiley though he'd likely seek his own mandate governor rather than give the Senate another shot
