If you can get 10 years for stealing $2000, stealing 500 times that much should get life

Thinking of it like that, I would but I really think custodial sentences should be primarily for those who, by their violent actions, pose a grave danger to society

Of course, depending on the wider negative impact on society, those guilty of 'white collar' financial felonies should serve some jail time. I have a grim opinion of tax evasion, since widescale evasion of taxes reduce government revenue; thereby, undermining public services
