Labour hold Dumfries & Galloway. Labour's notional vote must have been understated.

Must have been Stranraer Smiley that made it so. A nice bit of red on the map!

Pity about the other one - looks like Tory Dumfrieshire outvoted Clydesdale (Lab) and Tweedale (LD) or is it not as simple as that?

Is it not more working class than Southgate? An unexpected but very welcome hold for Labour

Howard denied a majority - no surprise.

And justly so!

Somethings that no one else has pointed out:

1. Labour held Dorset South!
2. This is the first election since 1918 where Gravesham hasn't backed either the winner of the PV or the overall election.

1)Good on Jim Knight!

2) I believe it was the only one of Labour's 8 Kent seats not to go Tory!

Pity, we're still saddled with 'Rochester Bob' though

Oh, btw, it is now impossible for the Tories to hit 200. Unless a miracle has happened and they take one of those three Northern Irish seats they're standing in.

Official: Howard worse leader than Foot

Aye, and they'd better believe it!
