The "Silent Majority" route would actually work for Biden if he hadn't given so much cover to the crazies over time.

Biden, personally, does oppose the far left and far right, but he's governed in a coalition with the far left, caving on any number of policies.  Nixon, who was able to reject extremists for two (2) decades in politics, was able to pull this off.  Biden has given the Far Left most of what they want. 

Rep. Abby Spanberger (D-VA) said it well:  "Joe Biden was not elected to be FDR; he was elected to be normal and stop the chaos."  That's actually a consensus view; if Biden had really done this, I would have thought more highly of him.  That he's arguably done neither of these tasks is a majority view a this point, and it's certainly a consensus that he has not stopped the chaos.
