I can easily believe that the LGBT, Secularist, Feminist coalition would do anything not to defeat Moore, but to publicly embarrass him.  This would include fabricating a scandal that would not only bring down Moore, but embarrass Evangelical Christians.  Moore's fall would not just result in the election of a Democrat; it would result in a professing Christian being exposed and humiliated as a hypocrite; it would be a direct hit on Christianity, itself to highlight the Hypocritical Pervert as it's leading politician.  And, yes, I think folks would willingly lie against Moore, convincing themselves it's for some sort of greater good.

But I can also believe that Roy Moore is an unrepentant power driver.  A man who's beyond human accountability to the point where one has to wonder if he views himself as accountable to God for what he does.

Moore "dated" young girls when he was a young prosecutor.  He used his power to "date" young girls.  He well may have broken no laws; the age of consent in Alabama is 16, and it's not impossible that Moore's primary accuser MAY be misstating how old she was at the time.  It's not totally improper for folks to wonder "Why now?" and not unreasonable to think that folks' recommendation of details of events that happened almost 40 years ago are not entirely accurate.  He may not be a criminal.  But that's not good enough, given the premise of his candidacy.

This is the Ten Commandments guy.  He was having sex outside of marriage; what does THAT say?  That he was involving himself with teenage girls while he was in his 30s suggests real need for power and control that are more than a little troubling.  I used to view Moore as a person seeking to advance principles that I consider important; the resistance to rampant secularism in our culture.  I believe that God wanted the Ten Commandments monument to remain in the Rotunda of the AL Supreme Court, but allowed it to be removed because the monument came to glorify Roy Moore more that it glorified Him.

For Christians to openly support Roy Moore at this point beyond quietly voting for him at the polls (and even that, I would not do if I were an Alabama voter) is for Christians to be saying that God does not empower believers to live, sexually, within His dictates.  Roy Moore doesn't present himself as some sort of wayward soul who found Jesus as an adult; he's the epitome of "Back in the day, we . . ." appeals of a lifelong Christian who is astonished as to how far down the road toward secularism we've gone.  I'm all for a man with guts, willing to fight for important principles, but when that man is someone who sought to impress teenage girls with his position (a prosecutor) to achieve his aims, I see a power addict whose presence in public life is dangerous.

I retract my endorsement of Moore.  I would vote for Jones if I were an Alabama voter.  Moore's election would be bad for both the Nation and the Church.  And it would be bad for Moore, as it would reinforce what seems to be a tragic level of unwillingness to repent and be accountable.  I don't think Roy Moore is accountable even to his Pastor, and that makes me worry if he is even accountable to God.

Roy Moore has to be one of the worst people to have ever run for the Senate in recent history. Dear God this man is evil. No morals whats over and he calls himself a "Christian."

Christianity is about acting evil and God forgiving you anyway.

If that were true for Moore he would be apologizing to his rape victims.

He will recant on his deathbed. Chaching!

There are many Christians who life commendable lives who attempt to live according to the Word of God.  Roy Moore being a hypocrite doesn't change that one iota.  And there are many folks here who have no real idea about what being a Christian really entails.

Conservatives: "I really haven't seen enough evidence, but if it is true It's not a big deal."

Those same conservatives: "You see if you just take out the word "pizza" in this email and replace it with "child slave" ...

Come on now, I know you can troll better than this.

It's the weekend; cut him a break.

I'm sure some operative whipped this up.  The issue is whether or not Moore is being destroyed with lies or with truths.

Did you listen to his interview on Hannity's radio show? At worst, I would say he is being destroyed by mostly-truths due to how much time has passed since the alleged events. I cannot see the allegations being fabrications.
I saw it, and, no, I was not impressed with Moore's denial.  Not at all.
