One of the GOP fears surrounding a Trump candidacy is the effect it would have on downballot races, particularly Congressional and Gubenatorial races.  Part of this problem was created after the GOP seemed to circle the wagons to stop Trump, thinking he was going to be a temporary nuisance.  Lots of folks have made statements about Trump that they wish they could walk back, but can't.   Trump's now a legit frontrunner, and the most likely (though far from certain) GOP Presidential nominee.

How will a Trump nomination affect downballot races?  Will downballot Republicans distance themselves from the national ticket, and to what extent?  Will GOP candidates be hung by their own tongues after having bashed Trump in ways they can't take back?  Will Trump prove so popular as to spawn some primary challenges against prominent GOP elected officials, producing David Brat-style upsets of big shots?  Are there any Republicans running this year that you see as vulnerable because of Trump, or because of their stated opposition to Trump?
