Never said he was, but he did say that Roe V. Wade is the "law of the land."
Well it is, and passing legislation people know to be unconstitutional that will, often very quickly, be voided by Federal Courts, is a deliberate waste of taxpayer monies. I don't like that fact, but even Samuel Alito, during his confirmation hearings, described Roe v. Wade as "a precedent worthy of respect". And in Constitutional Law, based on the principle of
stare decisis, it very much is. Short of the SCOTUS overruling itself (unlikely, but possible) or a Constitutional Amendment passing that prohibits abortion (not possible, politically, at this point in time), that's where we're at. Unfortunately.
