Congratulations on committing political suicide!

Of all the things the Republican Party has done this year, ruling out confirming Garland in a lame duck session, is way, way, way down the list.

There was a Liberal strategist who wrote an interesting piece a while back outlining exactly what it takes for a decision, event or scandal to make a really hurt a party. Among other things it is necessary for an event to be distilled into an "elevator pitch" that gets the average Joe mad.

Adultery, taking money from the till etc pass the test. Obscure judicial proceedings, not so much.
