Not a political figure, but a historical figure certainly. I wouldn't name a child anything that isn't the name of a saint (maybe with a few exceptions such as Grace, Hope, etc.).

This, although I'd throw in a few prominent Protestants like Luther and Calvin. My fiance is fond of OT prophet names. Elijah and Ezra are on our shortlist. I have a distant relation whose name is John Wycliffe ______, so maybe I could do that.
