I'm actually interested if Blacks in the UK and Canada also talk differently, or if it is just the case in the US with the poorer population segment ? Maybe the posters from there know more.
To me, Obama for example seems to talk like the white mainstream, or is it just me as a non-native English speaker who can't hear out the small differences ?
In Canada, they speak differently from your typical white person, but the difference is not quite as pronounced as in the USA.
