We have a race between consolidation of power and resistance, between power and liberty, between fanaticism and reason, between desperation and hope, and between dictatorship and Constitutional norms.
Since when are the democrats for liberty? Much of the opposition is partisan grandstanding over which faction gets to wield obscene power, not any serious attempt to limit that power generally. Its not like the government under obama didnt deport illegal immigrants or drone brown people weddings or have courts tell them that they've exceeded their power. The 2016 platform even called for reducing the protections of the 1st amendment.The real difference is that this time around we have a buffoonish mix of nixon and rob ford in charge instead of the cool black guy.
