Buttigieg has really damaged Beto & the Beto hype in a bad way. He is also taking a lot of the Biden votes which Beto & Kamala was hoping to take.

He is the new media darling.

He literally is a more charismatic version of Beto. The DC chattering class love him, Beto is old news. This is why losers like Swalwell and Tim Ryan have jumped in, thinking if a random mayor can make it big, so can they.

LOL watch him win the nomination, be hailed as the new Obama, and then lose to Trump. That'll teach the media on propping up platitude candidates, and LOL @ any person who thinks he has the minority appeal to win back Florida and Michigan.

Obama was able to fuse together minority support with the young and wealthy white people. Gary Hart in 1984 and Pete Buttigieg today are the candidates for the second and third groups, but not the candidate of minorities. It won't be enough to win. It's like the religious right in the GOP, a very strong plurality but not enough to win.

I'm 22 and I got the reference, and I think Pete's point was more that the President has to stick to schoolyard bully tactics and dated references to gain political clout but...I've seen a lot of galaxy brain liberals being like "what kind of IDIOT doesn't know who Alfred E. Neuman is???"

I was obsessed with Mad Magazine when I was a kid and used to collect them and owned maybe around 100 or so magazines. I of course got that reference.
