this is exactly the kind of margins he needs among whites to win

looks like his "good god, we have to save suburban whites" strategy is working.

for the record, PPP has always showed a closer race than other pollsters.

Romney won slightly more whites than Trump (around 61% vs. 60% for Trump), but Clinton is winning quite a few less than Obama (33% vs. 37%).

Adjusting for 2012 turnout actually makes this poll worse - and making the assumption undecides split evenly, in a two-way I get a Trump win of 51%-49%. He does worse with hispanics, but makes enough improvement with whites and blacks to make a difference.
