Unless there's a bill on the federal level repealing pesticide regulations, I see no need for this bill.

Here's the issue - is Atlasia just where U.S. Government left off or not?

If these regulations were put in place before 2004, then we have them in Atlasia.

That's what I thought. The question is, do you want to add more to the list? I would be happy to have that discussion.

There have been some changes to the law since 2004, and I'd like this to be the complete list of banned pesticides.

How about we only have the ones that have been added since 2004? I don't think it's wise to have redundancies in the law.

Here's my idea for the way forward

- We only add to the law the changes since 2004.

- However, we split the bill up so that it acknowledges all of the pesticides that are currently banned.

What do you think?

So the bill would look something like

Seeing as there are no objections, the amendment passes.

Anything else?

Amending the structure w as okay I guess (since I like pretty bills), but I guess I want to know what about the new pesticides that we are proposing banning are harmful? I don't want us to be overburdening and over-regulating our farmers by banning potential ways to save their farms from stupid bugs.

No no, I mean why is this bill necessary in general, not your amendment. Tongue

That was my question as well, Duke. We're speaking the same language for once Tongue

Here's another issue I have: the fine. Defining the fine seems to put more harm on smaller farms than necessary, since Big Ag can pay those $100,000 fines, and those smaller farms are less able to comply with this new regulation. We've defined fines differently in the region, fining according to ability, and I think we need to adjust it similarly. Either we strike to portion or at least changing it.

I'd be open to changing it, I only put it in there to have a bit more substance, but what would you think about for $1,000 for farms with under 10 workers, $5,000 for farms with under 50 workers, etc.

I was thinking of scaling it to book income (like 1/50th of income or something, so small farms are charged only like a couple thousand while big companies are charged millions).

If I can get to it, I will propose an amendment rectifying the fine issue.

I'll vote Aye here. While perserving the rights of people to do business is important, so is public safety, and since most of the pesticides being illegalized now are not in that much use anyway, we don't sacrifice much of those rights.
