She also didn't run a good campaign - as some recall, she was already hemorrhaging money way early on, before Matheson decided to bow out of the race. I think Matheson spoke too soon - he would've easily won this year.

Or maybe Doug Owens is the greatest candidate ever and we just didn't notice it.
