Don't Republicans usually insist that newspaper endorsements mean nothing? Some consistency would be nice.

They don't usually, but it is an indicator of where a race is going (and if it's a big newspaper that endorses someone unexpectedly). If a usually Republican newspaper endorsed a Democrat, wouldn't that be a big deal? Same goes with this race, especially a newspaper as well known as the Boston Globe.

I don't think I can call this a tossup anymore if the Boston Globe is endorsing Baker.

Don't underestimate the Democrats' GOTV machine in Massachusetts.



It's true. Suzanne Bump still won the Auditor job in 2010 without the Boston Globe's endorsement.
