Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, imprisoned by Taliban in Afghanistan since 2009, is freed

The GOP should be god damn ashamed of its self for the pushing for the release of this guy at all costs, and then condemning his release.

Raul Labrador has called out his fellow Republicans on this. Good for him.

Of course we do Prisoner swaps at the end of wars. That's what we do. The question is if this deal was a good or bad one, which I still question, but this isn't some unprecedented sort of thing.

Fox News claims that evidence indicates Bergdahl declared that he was a "mujahid, 'or warrior for Islam'" while in captivity, but that he attempted to escape his captors. The report also indicates that Bergdahl converted to Islam and that he was accepted by his captors at some points.

Any thoughts?

If he attempted to escape his captures, then wasn't he clearly under duress? I mean, come on.

I like the whole Guilty til Proven innocent logic working here.

I know some people have come out, that doesn't mean its the case, and he could have serious mental health issues. Until we have all those facts out there, calling him a deserter is just unfounded.
