Unless the Senate is willing to go for further reduction to corporate taxes, I propose eliminating section 1.

Here's an amendment I am offering. Noting the change in the tax rate is irrelevant, since we have passed the White House budget with the tax rates like that. The second is jobs. I don't think we should be exclusively rewarding returning manufacturing jobs to Atlasia, and instead rewarding companies who plan to invest here period, regardless of the type of work.

Duke's point causes me to object.

Edit: Objection rescinded.

What does this look like right now? I'm not sure it is quite finished, but it's looking better and better.

I need to rework this bill. Am I allowed to or do I need a senator to sponsor an amendment? Can't I just become a senator? Tongue

I will sponsor whatever your amendment is.

Whats the point of even pushing that amendment? Labor's last President cut the corporate rate from 35% to 25%. He clearly must have had a reason for it!

Economic growth in the U.S. was strongest in the 1950s and 1960s, when the corporate tax rate was far higher than it is today. We have no reason not to tax corporate profits in a progressive fashion and use the revenue yielded to expand social services at home.

That's not true, especially in the 50s, and growth improved in the 60s mainly because we cut rates. I've refuted this point with you before.
