Why Nelson for Governor? Doesn't that just make the Dems lose a Senate seat?

I'd assume that Nelson could just wait until 1 second before he takes the oath of office as governor to resign from his Senate seat.  That way Scott wouldn't have any time to appoint a successor.


Yeah, can't he resign effectively the moment he takes his oath as governor? I think Biden did something like that so that Markel would appoint his successor.

Wasn't Miner also a democrat though? I mean, her approvals were in the teens, but still.
