I have been wondering this.  For the last few years I have hated France with a passion for being vehemently anti-American and loved Britain for being opposite.  Do you think that with the new governments in place, American conservatives like myself will become France-lovers and Britain-haters?

If you hate an entire country purely due to the government it elects, and especially if you will revise that hate the moment a new government is elected as if the people are somehow suddenly fundamentally different, you have serious issues, and perhaps would benefit from a hiatus from politics.

An excellent argument; I'm glad to see you're paying close attention to what is being said in this thread.

I have to say that while I don't like the way DWDL argues most of the time, it's really pathetic that those opposing him have to mention FOX News in every post. People want to get on his case about generalizations about the French yet the generalizations about FOX and conservatives never cease.

And before anyone goes crazy on me, I'm known to have a dislike for FOX.

DWDL was the first of anyone to bring up Fox News:

I also just think French people are snobbish, arrogant prudes as well.  Fox News and colorful avatars all the way!

No, it was Earl...

Haha. Someone watches too much faux news. Get real; don't hate an entire country based on a government's decisions.

Oh, my bad, I was only searching for "fox".

My point was that fox news is the leading culprate for misinformation about the French. When it comes to bias from Fox News, it's hard to make any false generalizations.

It's still wrong to just assume that a conservative you are arguing with gets their news from FOX and that FOX is always wrong.

Although, with DWDL's response, it sounds like it was actually accurate in his case. Tongue
