I would encourage the Senate to bypass rules on this bill and simply pass it.

All they have to do is simply not debate anything for 24 hours.

Is it possible for a Senator to motion "suspending the rules" like the real Congress?

I'm not actually sure, although I personally would rather avoid doing so if we can.  It's not like this is extremely urgent.

One minor little grammatical thing I noticed when reading through this again:

In Clause 2, the first "there" should instead be "their".

Fixed.

Okay, as this is essentially a giant amendment, I open voting on re-wording the bill to read as Sen. Hughento specified.

All senators in favor, vote "aye"; all against, vote "nay".

Aye.

With six votes in favor to none against, the amendment has passed.

I would like to request a motion to bring this bill to a vote.

Okay, I hereby bring this bill to a vote.

All senators in favor, vote "aye"; all against, vote "nay".

Was that a vote for the bill itself or the amendment that just passed?

This legislation now has enough votes to pass; senators now have 24 hours to change their votes.

It's been over 24 hours to change on this one, Gabu.

I know; I've been in a magical land called "not here". Smiley

With eight votes in favor to none against, this bill has passed.

I hereby present it to the president for his signature.

I don't know what to put on this thread...MAS...you give me something.

You know, King, this doesn't seem like it would be that hard to put together.  Are you just not interested in doing it?

My feelings exactly.

I'm interested, I just can't think of anything good to write...

Er, am I misreading something?  It looks to me like the thread is just supposed to be a bunch of links.
