Meaning…the Republican Party is out of touch with the period in which we are living.

Yeah…this is part of what a realigning period looks like.

If you look at politics like a sport…it’s great for the Democrats.
Yeah in Presidential Years its great for Democrats when their Presidential Candidate is on the top of the ballot of late. In mid-terms years not so much of late.

Sad!! The GOP still lives in the first half of the 20th century.
Um gay marriage wasn't a thing till like right before or eight after the 2012 Presidential Cycle.

And apparently team Ted Cruz is one of the prime perps. The Pub party is an utter cesspool at the moment. It's just awful. Here is the squibb from an article in Politico today:

"5. Gay-friendlier GOP? The Republican Party’s 2016 platform remains as socially conservative as always, thanks to the work of religious conservatives allied with Cruz. It includes no mention of LGBT rights or protections and enshrines the concept of marriage as “a union between a man and a woman” despite polls showing that most Americans support same-sex marriage.
The head of the Log Cabin Republicans, the party’s most influential gay, lesbian and transgender rights group declared the language “the most anti-LGBT platform in the party’s 162-year history. ... Opposition to marriage equality, nonsense about bathrooms, an endorsement of the debunked psychological practice of 'pray the gay away' — it's all in there.”

Cruz is already getting jump on the 2020 Presidential Cycle!

Um gay marriage wasn't a thing till like right before or eight after the 2012 Presidential Cycle.

Same Sex Marriage was first challenged legally in the State Supreme Court of Hawaii in 1991.

Internationally, the first nation to adopt same sex marriage was the Netherlands in 2001.

The first US State to legalized same sex marriage was Massachusetts in 2004.
What I meant was a majority of the nation wasn't for Gay Marriage till like early 2010's(late 2011-early 2013 period.) The Democrats at the national level didn't have Same Sex Marriage in their platform till like 2012 I think. I'm somewhat not surprised that Massachusetts(State Voters) was for Gay Marriage in 2004 because its a very liberal state on social issues.
