Yes; whenever I mention that I am Mormon, people always assume I'll be voting for Romney, or that I'm far-right. I'm most definitely not a conservative.

Also, whenever I mention I'm liberal, people assume I'll be voting for Obama. Lolol no. Obama is a pro-corporate stooge just as much as a moderate Republican would be, and he's continued too many neocon military strategies (though I do like that he's encouraging the military to switch to green energy).

Basically, I'm a contradiction of all most people know about Mormons; an uber-leftist (though not quite socialist... yet) Mormon.

One time a couple of years ago I was asked by a classmate if I liked Obama.  When I said I didn't, he asked me, "So you're more conservative?"  I responded with, "I'm more liberal.", and he seemed to think that was a little weird.

Happens a lot with me too. I get a kick out of explaining that no, Obama is too conservative for me, not too liberal.
