Bus driver seemed to be withdrawn, wasn't acknowledging passengers when they got on. Could have been depressed. No attempts to slow down.

If that's true and he/she wanted to end his life, that seems like a rather self-centered way to do it; disregarding the lives of dozens of innocents to end his/her own.
