I could see the Taliban calling it an Apache to make them look all tough and competent when it's really an unarmed/lightly armed transport helicopter.
No such reports of such any shoot down incident around this date. In Iraq the esurgents used to trot out the same IED attacks as brand new- sadly these were at least real rather than the horribly fake video(game) purported to be the attack described in the link by the Pakistani press.
