I'm actually glad to see this playing out in California as opposed to somewhere smaller. As California goes, so goes the nation (at least eventually). It will have a much greater impact. Keep in mind, the outcome is not a foregone conclusion. Two years ago, Arizona voted down just such an amendment. Even though we've been the only state to do so, the fact that an initiative such as this can fail in a state as conservative as Arizona leaves hope.

Egad....... Angry

Well, at least it's the people trying to do this, as opposed to some federal judge.

Ah, yes...the people...the tyranny of the majority. This is the ugly side of a loose, easy ballot initiative process.

Havelock - are you from Havelock, NC?  I have family there and they are no good, the sort of depraved libertines that I spoke of in my last post.

Anyway, I find it quite bigoted to call people bigots.  Gay marriage is perhaps the most bigoted thing out there, bigotry against God for ordaining male + female instead of male + male, female + female, male + dog, et cetera.  Thank goodness that forty-eight out of fifty states have the good sense not to allow that sort of rubbish within their borders.

As I read this, my dog was giving me the eye. How fortunate that I don't live in one of those states that have "had the good dense not to allow that sort of rubbish within" its borders.
