Wallace ran in 1968 to oppose Eastern Intelectuals. RFK was an Eastern Intelectual, so Wallace would have still ran.

Robert Kennedy vs. Richard Nixon vs. George Wallace could have easily went to the House. Than Bobby Kenendy would have been elected in the House.

I think PBrunsel's on the right track, although I believe the electoral college would have safely ushered in RFK.
