Republicans became quasi-fascist after 2012. Didn't stop them from winning the electoral college. Bernie consistently out polled Hillary in GE matchups because he actually stood for something which is rare for a politician. Nominate a leftie who inspires and they aren't gonna lose to an incumbent with a sub-40% approval rating.
