Would you prefer to go back to the era of no divisions, where the two teams with the best record from each league meet in the World Series?
I tend to veer towards tradition, yes. I understand the mechanics are rough, but I would prefer fewer teams in the postseason obviously. I would say that four is ideal in a sport full of so much randomness. But we'll never go to that because the smaller markets - outside Tampa - wouldn't have a prayer (not that they have much of a chance in the current conditions, but they have broken through)
The fun thing about this is that Braves still had the best record of the teams that’d likely make up a 7-8 team NL East.
