York is a rural county that surrounds the City of York. Lately, it has received an influx of new residents from Baltimore and Philadelphia that has begun turning it into a suburban county ala Howard County, MD and the Harrisburg Metro counties. It looks as if it will stay in the GOP column for the forseable future.

I would tend to agree that it will in the near future, though 20-30 years down the road, it may go the way of the Philly 'burbs as the Baltimore and Harrisburg metro areas grow.
