Closing the border and placing willing citizen volunteers on it as guards solves it without a 12 billion dollar price tag.

They can come the way that my ancestors and the ancestors of most Americans came. That is, legally. They can have all the jobs they want if they come here legally, learn the language, and try to become Americans. If they hop the border, get paid under the table, and form violent street gangs, they deserve deportation.
