Don't we already have Social Security for disabled people? I've been running my entire criminal operation legitimate business on that assumption.

I'm in that fun-filled area of disability where I'd get SSDI but not this new thing (and have been since forever and ever), so I might be a bit biased on this issue, but then again I've never actually received an SSDI payment. Was that average figure for Atlasia or Fictionland?

Even though we have a disability social security program, having a savings option may make sense as well.

Aren't you all anti-spending and anti-inefficiency? This seems like a pretty inefficient proposal to me. Are SSDI payment levels the same in Atlasia and Fictionland?

If you don't think that SSDI's payout is enough, wouldn't it just make more sense to cut out the middle man and increase the payout?

How would increasing the money that flows through a program rather than allowing for personal savings be "cutting out the middle man"?

I believe what Sen. TNF is saying is that if we want to raise benefits for people, we should use the programs we currently have rather than creating new ones. I thought you were opposed to unnecessary government bureaucracy? Or is this just a step towards privatization of Social Security?

Why would I oppose people being able to save money toward meeting their basic needs?  Whatever then, call it whatever you will.

I'm not sold on the idea of matching funds though.

I don't think people should have to save to meet their basic needs; if we want them to have more money we can increase SSDI payments.
