Joe Biden's debate answers:

1. What would you primarily push for right after being inaugurated?

I would try as hard as I damn well can to end the war in Iraq. President Bush has left us a total mess, and a complete failure, and America's national interests are not being served the way Americans want. People want their kids to have better futures. They don't want four more years of failed Republican policies.

2. What is your ideal Supreme Court Nominee?

The Supreme Court is in somewhat of a predicament right now. We've got five justices who vote one way and four justices who vote the other way, and the Court's quickly becoming a partisan bloc that exists solely to advance the interests of whoever appointed the justices. If I could have a justice to nominate, I'd pick someone who knows what the law is, what a fair justice system is, and who knows how to apply the law and not their own personal views.

3. What is your greatest weakness. (Being honest is better than saying "nothing is my weakness")

Well, you know me. Sometimes things don't come out the right way, you know what I mean?

As Sen. Biden realizes that he has no realistic shot at winning, he drops out and endorses the next President of the United States, Barack Obama!

Speech on Poverty in Los Angeles, California
Rally in Sacramento, California

Oct. 1:
Rally in San Francisco, California
Rally in Portland, Oregon
Rally and Fundraiser in Salem, Oregon

Rally in Berkeley, California with Sen. Barbara Boxer
Fundraiser and Meeting with Party Leaders in Berkeley, California

Oct. 3:
Rally in Davis, CA with local elderly people
Fundraiser in Davis, CA
Speech on Health Care in Davis, CA
Davis is a great city, isn't it Smiley?

"Howard Dean is, to be frank, the sexiest man alive. I mean really, can you think of a more attractive thing in this universe? Well, to me there isn't much. But there is something. To me, the one thing sexier than Howard Dean covered in chocolate frosting is decent medical care for America's poor and elderly. However, the Republican Party wants to take that away from you. They want to slash Medicare, slash Medicaid, and throw Grandma under the bus with ballooning insurance premiums that the HMOs won't give to her. In Vermont, Governor Dean fought to expand health care for everyone in the state, and I've done the same in Washington. It's a hard fight to fight, especially with the odds and the special interests stacked against us, but if you vote Dean/Murray in 2008, we will take that fight all the way to the top!

Oct. 4:
Rally in Carson City, NV
Rally in Las Vegas, NV
Fundraiser in Las Vegas, NV
Meeting with Party Leaders in Reno, NV

Oct. 5:
Rally in Sacramento, CA

Question 1:

"Well, Gwen, if Mrs. Lincoln wants the Democratic Party to "return to its roots" of slavery and murdering Indians, then she's sorely mistaken if she thinks Governor Dean and I intend to do that. The Democratic Party that we envision is a party dedicated to helping the downtrodden in America and opposing the Bush policies that got us into this mess. The Democratic Party we envision is a party that fights for every American having a share in the American Dream, not just the wealthiest few, not just men, not just heterosexuals, not just Christians, but everyone. On the subject of my womanhood, I think it's a shame, frankly, that a woman competing for high political office in this day and age should be seen as a remarkable thing. I intend to do what Geraldine Ferraro couldn't do and smash the glass ceiling once and for all, so millions of women and girls all across this great nation can look at a portrait of Aaron Burr or Andrew Johnson or Dick Cheney and say "I can do that, too."

Question 2:

"As Vice President, I would fight for the policies that President Dean would fight for, along with him and by his side, fighting for change in America. However, I wouldn't just stand by my man like Tammy Wynette. I'd take an active role as President of the Senate and get the world's greatest deliberative body on its feet and pumping out legislation that would help millions of Americans. In addition, I would be fighting for my own causes as well, like the environment and education."

Question 4:

"I think the reason partisanship exists in Washington is because people have deeply held views upon which they are unwilling to compromise. Frankly, at times I can be one of those people. However, in order to get anything done in Washington, you absolutely must compromise. That's why Governor Dean and I will try as hard as we can to work across the aisle to enact policies that help working- and middle-class Americans, without sacrificing our Democratic (and democratic) principles."

Question 6:

"I don't think I've ever had to change any policy views, Gwen. I've always been a woman who fights for the middle class, in Washington State and Washington DC. I've always believed the American Dream and America itself is for everybody. That, in fact, is why I'm running for Vice President of this great land - I think that in this current climate too many Americans are being shut out of the American Dream, and that's a damn shame if I ever saw one."

Closing Statement:

"First off, I'd like to thank Governor Pataki, Senator Bayh, and Representative Kucinich for being here along with me, but I'd also like to tell you why I should be your next Vice President instead of them. You see, if we continue on this current path, America's future will not look good, and the policies of Bloomberg/Bayh and McCain/Pataki are the same as the policies of the last eight years. They would keep us stuck in an unwinnable, unnecessary war in Iraq, they would make us more enemies abroad and at home, and they would continue the economy's current downward spiral. On the other hand, you have Nader/Kucinich. The top of that ticket wouldn't even let his employees form a union, and the bottom is, quite frankly, a radical man who wants to ban simply owning a handgun even though he himself owned one when he was Mayor of Cleveland. As Vice President, I would fight to reverse the downward spiral of the past eight years and help forge a new day in America. Thank you, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America!

Rally in Albany, NY

10/10:
Speech on Welfare in New York, NY
Rally in Dixville Notch, NH
Rally in Manchester, NH

"There are some who say that the poorest Americans are lazy, shiftless, and unwilling to work. My fellow Americans, this is fundamentally untrue. The people who say these things have obviously never met a single mother struggling to pay the bills, or a college graduate who can't find a job, or one of the millions of people who have been laid off due to the recession. If they had, they would know that - and I can't believe I have to say this - poor, hard-working Americans who are on welfare because they have to, not because they want to, are just as deserving of compassion and of a leg up as everyone else. If the right wing stays in power, they will slash our social safety net and take away benefits from millions of Americans because they'd prefer to do that than to repeal the budget-destroying Bush tax cuts. This, people of New York, is manifestly unfair. As President, Governor Dean will fight to preserve the safety net and unemployment benefits for every American who needs them, and as Vice President, I will fight to do the same."

OOC:JulioMadrid and Spamage agreed that in order to make everyone have a fair chance of winning, they decided to make the crisis not to happen during the election cycle. Hope that it happens in December, what about a Dark Christmas? Tongue What I'm almost sure is that this election is going to the House =/

OOC: Should I retroactively edit my reference to the recession out?

As President, Governor Dean will not stand for this kind of behavior from the Republican Party, and neither will I as Vice President. It is unfair to take away health care and unemployment benefits from the poor and give to the rich simply because they are rich. It is unfair to deny millions of hard-working Iowans the protections they need to give some CEO's son another mansion with a car elevator, and it is especially unfair to deny every American the right to see Howard Dean's sexy body dipped in chocolate because certain people are ringing alarm bells that we're out of money when they are the very same people drying up the money supply by taking from the many to give to the few."

Hey, I've got finals around now, so I won't be able to keep up with most of the Forum (and definitely not this) for the next week and possibly two weeks. We can say that Patty Murray got severely injured burning George W. Bush in effigy and will not be out of the hospital until whenever I get back, though the election may be over by then (I'm not totally sure about this pacing thing).

For too long, the special interests and the Republican Party - not that those two are mutually exclusive by any means - have been treading on the American people and it's time to stop! A vote for Dean/Murray is a vote to stop all this. A vote for Dean/Murray is a vote for sensible taxation. A vote for Dean/Murray is a vote to end the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War. A vote for Dean/Murray is a vote for health care for every American. A vote for health care is a vote for every American, black, white, Hispanic, gay, straight, men, women, everyone, all across America. A vote for Bloomberg/Bayh is a vote for the status quo, for unequal protection before the law, for failed disaster relief efforts, for not being able to drink a soda, and for a decrease in America's standard of living. My fellow Americans, I say no to that, Senator Clinton says no to that, Governor Dean says no to that, and I hope that today you will all say no to that and yes to Dean/Murray!"

Statement from Patty Murray, in her secret Dean/Murray '08 Election Vice-Bunker (not as cool as Governor Dean's bunker), Seattle, WA

"It's a great sight to see all those millions of Americans casting their votes for change and against the policies of the past eight years. Together, with the help of the voters of 12 states so far, and hopefully many more, Howard Dean and I can take this country back! Every Pennsylvanian voter still out there needs to go out there and support Dean/Murray '08. Remember, a vote for Governor Dean for President is a vote for universal health care, removing the troops from Iraq, and an increase in every American's standard for living. Governor Dean's home state has already made the right choice, and I hope that my own will do the same. Let's keep fighting for change, America!"

The Murray Bunker: Statement on McCain's support of Bloomberg

"My fellow Democrats, and my fellow Americans, it is a shame what Senator McCain has done. It is a shame to fail to campaign for weeks and then just give up on the whole thing. It is a shame for Sen. McCain to betray his constituents in the Republican Party in favor of another candidate. It is a shame to, on Election Night, give up and abandon one's principles in order to win. And, most of all, it is a shame for Mayor Bloomberg to pretend to be a bipartisan, Golden Mean Fallacy fulfilling figure while promising to continue the economic policies of George W. Bush with the full support of the Republican Party's standard bearer. This proves what Governor Dean and I have been saying all along: Mayor Bloomberg is not a moderate. Mayor Bloomberg is not a centrist. Mayor Bloomberg will not fight for you. He will only fight for the right wing and the special interests."
