I am once again listening to the best seventy minutes of music written in my lifetime.

Straight through, of course.

Miles Davis- Spanish Key

I don't listen to jazz much but this is damn good.  Definitely my favorite track off of Bitches Brew.

The New Pornographers- The Bleeding Heart Show

For whatever reason, Twin Cinema pushes my nostalgia buttons way out of proportion to its quality or any connection it has to any particular event in my past.  Anyway, this is the best track on it.

I am listening to the radio.  Specifically, to the one song that has an f-bomb that magically never gets bleeped on-air by anybody.  I'll leave the identity of said song as a quiz for y'all.

Ok I'm still curious. What song?

The Who- Who Are You

Funny thing was, very shortly afterwards they played Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing", which of course has a very different f-word that was bleeped.

Elvis Costello- Strict Time

Trust is kind of a weird album- about 50% incredible classics and 50% dreck with little in between, yet there's a consistent aesthetic that makes it hard to really separate the two.  The good stuff is mostly early on and in the middle, this is obviously one of the high points.

I agree.  There's some really annoying about Luxembourg and Lovers Walk.  And, Big Sister's Clothes, I don't even know what that's supposed to be.  I also think it suffers from being a tad 80s overproduced and glossy in the overall sound.  The lyrics are exceptional though.

I've always loved "New Lace Sleeves," "White Knuckles," and "Strict Time."  There are a few lines in those songs that just perfect.

I like "Lover's Walk", actually, but "Luxembourg" is easily the worst track on the album.

Pretty sure "Big Sister's Clothes" is supposed to be an anti-Thatcher song.
