He'll stay in office as long as the GOP holds the Senate. I don't think anything short of a military coup could force him out early at this point (and that's a route I'd rather the country not head down.)

Sad, but true.

If the version of events in that memo can be corroborated, then that should be ballgame. There's no spin to be had on this one; that would straight-up be abuse of office and obstruction of justice.

Don't underestimate the GOP's thirst for tax cuts and gutting the safety net.

At some point, they have to think they'll have a much better chance of that under Pence.

They have no chance with Pence (impeachment would dominate rest of the year and into 2018). This is why they are still backing Trump.

I TOLD MY FELLOW REPUBLICANS ABOUT THIS. DAY IN AND DAY OUT. THIS WOULD HAPPEN. Throughout 2016. Did they listen?

Nooooo they did not. We'll see if this gets him impeached. I want to see it before I believe it.

Yeah, everyone who knew anything about Trump's history and personality saw this coming. The question was always a matter of when.

This is laughable. This supposedly happened in February, but Comey never says anything about it (as he would have been required to do) and then goes in front of Congress, under oath, and says that he wasn't pressured?

The Mccabe, an Obama appointee who hates Trump with a passion, denies the same thing under oath to Congress?

It's obvious that the Compost and NYSlimes are coordinating with the DNC and Schmuck Schumer. Notice Schmuck Schumer has a prepared comment for every new "revelation" by the Compost and the Slimes.

This is the same game plan that the media ran during the campaign, the same one that had all of you believing Hillary! was up by 10 points and had the election in the bag.

You can stamp your feet all you want, you can cry and dream about impeachment, but it isn't happening.

well, pence is at least no danger for the nation and everything he does can be reversed by the next president.

Personally I think Pence is a much greater danger--he has the demeanor and temperament to get worse done than Trump, but be low key about it so as not to draw as much opposition, and make his policies seem more benign than they are.

Honestly I'd rather Trump finish his term and have even one day of the alternative.

Pence isn't going to have much political capital.

People are really underestimating how long a potential investigation/impeachment proceeding would last. If Trump is removed it will be in early-mid 2018 and by then, not much time left to push through the GOP agenda.

I'm pretty sure Ivanka will be able to convince her father to resign before any of that happens.

I highly doubt it.

Trump isn't going to go quietly.

It's a bad time for America.

Democrats should not be giddy, Hillary Clinton had tons of baggage and a Hillary Clinton presidency would have been slow of legislative accomplishments as well.

America is facing it's consequences.

Hillary Clinton is completely irrelevant to whether Trump told Comey to stop investigating Flynn.

Talking about Clinton is all they have at this point.

I didn't vote for him. I'm just pointing out that her presidency would have been scandal-tarred by now.

Stop with the "bothsides" bullsh**t.

We aren't having this daily chaos if Clinton was in office.

She would have brought Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills to the WH. Come on. It's sad. Had she won, it would have been wise for her to distance herself from them.

The point they are making isn't that her WH would have been scandal free--it wouldn't have. It's that she probably wouldn't have leaked our allies secrets to our enemies, tried to end a federal investigation into said enemy's interference in our election, and constantly tweet stupid and crass comments.

Exactly.

Just in on CNN: Justice Department names Robert Mueller as Special Counsel on Russia investigation

This is a good choice.
