The text of the resolution is largely irrelevant. The comparison was the point. Remember, in this "Punch Nazis" era, comparing something to Nazis isn't random hyperbole. It's a direct threat. If Israel is the new Nazis, then Israel supporters are Nazi supporters. Thus, attacking a random Jew in the streets is now antifascism.

She introduced a resolution in support of the BDS movement. She used the US boycott against Nazi Germany as an example of another justified boycott. That's a comparison.

John Lewis is a cosponsor of this resolution.  He wouldn't have signed on to this if he thought it was anti-Semitic.     He's also a cosponsor of H.Res. 246, that expresses opposition to BDS, but avoids any action to prohibit it.

I have enormous respect for the life John Lewis has led, but he's capable of being wrong. And he's as much of an authority on antisemitism as I am on southern-era racism.

Yeah, that person is a troll, and I'm not defending them. But my point is that Israel has not been doing a good job of protecting its nonwhite Jewish citizens.

It's complicated, because they are a refuge for many of those citizens from countries that want them dead. But they definitely need to do better.
