Palin wouldn't have been picked if Gore and Obama were the Democratic ticket this year. Maybe Pawlenty or someone else who wasn't in the running. Here's a map with a realistic Republic VP pick figured in, it would be about the same even with Palin. Gore is pretty much damaged goods.
