Well, a tpical case, where party loyalty sharply conflicts with generally moderate instincts. In this case loyalty prevailed. With predictable consequences.

I think people are really overestimating Collins chances. We are living in a partisan time, and Collins will not have the crossover support she was afforded back in 2014.

Sure. The question is how much of this crossover support she will preserve.
