I didn't make much sense of the subreddit when I saw a link to it here, nor do I have any idea about the goals or size of the supposed movement.

My hunch from the responses is that it's misguided people with an exaggerated sense of their significance, the type of thing that might have appealed to me as a smartass teenager.

I could change my mind if I see an objective explanation.
