Bishop Auckland has voted Labour since 1935 I think... I think that Durham North West has as well (possibly longer. I think it went with the "National" Government tide in 1931, but I'm not sure).
Telford was created in 1997 out of the old Wrekin seat... which was normally Labour but swung Torywards in the '50's and 1983. Telford is a nice safe Labour seat though.
The Wrekin was created from the rural/suburban bits of the old Wrekin seat and is a Labour marginal (with an outstanding M.P though... he looks safe).
Ludlow was Tory from about 1910 (according to the local rag) until 2001, when the retiring fascist Tory M.P was replaced by an even more extremist right winger (and a carpetbagger as well) who was beaten by a LibDem.
Shrewsbury and Atcham (nee Shrewsbury) was Tory for eternity (often by very small margins though... it's a permanent marginal) until 1997 when Labour picked it up. The M.P later went gaga (literally) and defected to the LibDems. He'll lose next election, not sure who to though.

I'm "proud" that I'm the only one here who came from a parish that voted for Barry Goldwater and George Wallace--no political correctness for us--but still went with GOP softies like Ford and G H W Bush. Only two Democrats carried it in 12 elections (Kennedy and Clinton in '96)

East Baton Rouge Parish?

Well, my constituency in the UK has voted for the labour party every time since the early 60s I believe.

Durham City (parliamentary constituency) has been Labour since 1935 and my parish (Bearpark) is Labour: 7 Labour; 3 independents and 1 Resident (Tory)

My village (solid Labour) now has Liberal Democrat City councillors because we were included with a more populous Witton Gilbert, where the Liberal Democrats are dominant nowadays. City of Durham District Council went Lib Dem in 2003

Wow... that's VERY Republican. BTW, does anyone know of any counties that have gone Republican in every single election? Or Democratic in every election?

Hmm... off the top of my head, I think some of the counties in the South that sided with the Union have been Republican in every election since the Civil War... Meninomee, WI (created in the '60's) has always voted Democratic... with the exception of 1928 Logan, WV has as well (and IIRC Jackson, TN has with the exception of 1924).

I'm pretty sure that Elliot, KY has always voted for the Democratic candidate, but I've not seen any results before the '40's (with the exception of 1912).

Suffolk County, MA has voted Democratic in every election that Dave has county records for.  I'm not sure how far back that trend continues.

Actually (if you're a paying member) Dave has data for Suffolk (Boston) going back to 1892.

Boston has voted GOP in 1896, 1908, 1920, 1924. And never again (although it was close in 1956).

I could have sworn I put it in my post, but anyway, no it's Nez Perce County in North Central Idaho.  Solidly Democratic except for the occasional Republican landslide.  Then it switched over.  Kerry did better then Gore though.

Why'd it switch?

The local Democratic commitee is making a comeback, we hold all but two or three county wide offices.
